FACTOIDS
Little known facts about Joni Prinjinski's writing, editing, and publishing career include the following:
She has long been a follower of the issue of free speech, having lived in the neighborhood of Madeline Murray O'Hara and attending the school where the controversy over prayer, Bible reading, and the pledge initiated. She continued to see the effects of this in her work in her tenure in rural West Virginia as liberal education clashed with traditional values in local schools.
Joni soaked up the serious business side of writing in Hollywood. She lived in the Los Angeles area, where she was allowed to complete her MS in Professional Writing degree, taking classes from USC's elite screenwriting program as well as a cosmopolitan philosophy couse from UCI. Each of her projects has expanded her understanding of World Culture and how to deliver a message across cultural divides. Foundational projects included getting to know the cultures of Haiti, Brazil, Spain, France, Canada, Poland, Russia, Israel, and many other outlooks of the authors, who were either natives, long-term residents, or persons innovating within these cultures.
Joni Prinjinski has made major contributions to developing the field of Rhetorical Ethics. Her body of work, called RESET (Rhetorical Ethics Self-Evaluation Tool), is a system for understanding worldviews and utilizing them in writing and speaking. She focuses on the importance of the arts in communicating across cultures and provides many tools for looking at information aside from culture and tradition.
Joni came on board as a publisher when Print-on-Demand was new. POD has grown and morphed, changing the publishing industry forever. Joni Prinjinski continues to innovate and stay on top of her field of publishing and communicating. POD originally was developed as a way of making more books available in Brazil, especially in the Portuguese lanuage. The results were very successful, and distribution to Brazil was later spear-headed by Thomas Nelson.
Joni Prinjinski has written many technical publications and published or edited the works of other companies in their name as a silent publisher. Her work included prominent projects in the fields of IT, medical marketing, and religious administration. In all, she has worked with hundreds of authors to publish many thousands of pages of technical and nonfiction materials. Her internal writing guides for authors have been enduring. She invented and gave life to dozens of new forms of documentation that met the needs of industry to reduce costs, meet goals, and grow additional business.
Joni's ancestry is a mix of immigrants to America. Her maternal grandmother's father lived during the Civil War, and various original documents have been handed down that document Baltimore history. Her maternal great-great-great grandfather was one of the heroes of the War of 1812, and the family has retained some of those relics and donated others to historical societies. Her paternal grandfather was a publisher, and she grew up with movable type, printing presses, and ink as part of her childhood. One of his ancestors was a very tough, resilent American Indian who was known for smoking a corncob pipe, delivering her babies in the field, and going back to work the same day. Joni is fortunate to have had this broad base of various patriotic Americans to fire her passion for freedom and diversity.
